May 25th: Towel Day
Edited on Tue May-25-10 07:31 AM by Patsy Stone
Towel Day is an annual celebration on the 25th of May, as a tribute to the late author Douglas Adams. On this day, fans around the universe proudly carry a towel in his honour. Do you know where your towel is? http://towelday.org/

5. I am throwing caution to the winds
and have my homemade Don't Panic towel (embroidered, with the asteroid) beside me at the coffee shop. This is the first time it's been out of the storage chest at the end of the bed in a good long while. (It's signed by D.A., so I'm usually skittish about carrying it around, but I just felt like it today.)

6. That
is a beautiful thing. I was lucky enough to meet him once. He was on a book tour with Terry Jones and they were at the Miami Book Fair. I think they were doing Starship Titanic. Hearing the two of them talk and interact with the audience was priceless. It was one of my best days.

7. Wow--double treat!
That must have been some session! I met D.A. when he was doing a book reading for Hitchhiker's. SUCH a nice guy! :)
