Do you have any Memorial Day plans?
Me? I figure I'll mow the lawn, water the garden, and fire up the grill. Boring ,sure, but also comforting.

1. Recovering from a badass sinus infection.
I never get them, and this one has knocked me on my ass.

6. Geez, I've been nursing a backache for the past two days.
I'm still gonna flip some veggie-burgers (for my lovely wife) and other treats on the grill.

I hope you recover quickly. Sinus infections really suck.

10. Aw, thanks.
It's really knocked me out. I don't usually get sick beyond a one-day cold or a two-day viral sore throat. I've been battling this for two weeks (see also DU threads: "My uvula hurts" and "My uvula's feeling better").

Hope your back feels better -- I have chronic back pain that I've mitigated with exercises, but back in the day that, too, would incapacitate me. It's hell getting old!

9. I should visit my father in law.
He's a WWII vet. (Airborne - Omaha Beach) He likes to tell me stories that he's never told his own kids.

20. Breakfast with friends, then I need to go check on my load.
The reefers been running full-time since Friday, doesn't deliver until Tuesday at 0500, so I need to check temp and fuel, then back home to watch the parade.

Then to Mom and Dad's for barbecue, a nap back at home, then off to work by 1800.

21. I'm visiting my Mom & Stepdad for a family cookout....
My sister & her kids are exected.
My niece is a vegetarian. So I'm in charge of
her food, since I'm the only one in the family
who has any experience with that.

I'm bringing bigass portabellos to grill,
two varieties of veggie-burgers, and some
nice goat cheese to make a tangy sauce for
all of the above.

Also, I'm bringing a wild venison tenderloin for us carnivores.

22. Going To The Memorial Day Ceremony Where My Grandpa (WWII Vet) Is Buried
I've done it each year since he passed away in 2000. It only takes about 10 minutes, and unfirtunately, I'm one of only a few who visits. Mr. Dinger comes with me, and son and daughter-in-law.:patriot:

23. Go to the boring town Memorial Day parade if it's nice out (which it should be)
It's right down the street from me and I'll see if anyone I know is marching (though I kind of doubt it this year). Then some steak tips on the grill later.
