...here's Lucy Kaplansky's "Ten Year Night".

Got a chance to see her in front of a very small crowd at a small resort
on the outskirts of Tucson some years back. My radio friend and I talked
to her in between sets out on the raised patio (not an interview).
.
After that... and hearing her do this song... all I can say is that her
husband is one lucky guy.
.
She's from NYC, and announced to the crowd that it looked like a rainstorm
was approaching, and was SHOCKED when the audience applauded. She
absorbed quickly how a desert population would celebrate the rain... and
I don't think she would have been insulted if some of us had slipped out for
a while during her show to dance in it (the storm stayed off in the distance).

A lesbian friend of mine was CRUSHED when she found out Lucy is straight
and married. The ol' "No chance at ALL for me now, I guess" realization.
I got her out of her dark mood with, "Maybe she's just straight and married
because she hasn't met YOU yet."
