1. I had a frozen pizza last night--
Freshetta (sp?) portabella mushroom and spinach--it was really good for a frozen pizza!

2. You're eating an original Tombstone?
How old is that thing exactly?

3. Tombstones
The last tombstone I ate was by my lonesome. Everybody else wanted mexican. I don't like mexican.

Either it was the way I baked it, or something else, but it seemed awfully greasy.

One doesn't need a pizza stone for a frozen pizza, do they?

6. I have a pizza stone, seems to make the pizza crispy.
I prefer to order pizza but I took a chance.

Tombstone rules.

9. Hmm
How long do you leave the pizza in?

Granted, I have slept since then, but I think I just used a cookie sheet, and put it in for 27 minutes, which was somewhere between the 'soft' and 'cripsy' crust time setting.

If it improves my cheaper-than-delivery pizza experience, I may just have to scrape up enough dough to buy a stone. Heh, dough.

10. I preheat the pizza stone, that might make the difference.
I do like to make homemade sometimes, a little more healthy.

After I preheat the stone, I say the pizza takes about 20 minutes.

I bought this pizza stone years ago, at a yard sale.

Only cost $5, a good deal.

13. Homemade is always the best
There is nothing like throwing together a pizza with some veggies from your own garden!

That being said, I don't get to freeze near as much as I would like out of my garden each year. And, not to pat myself on the back, but I do give quite a bit of my harvest away to folks who live on my block. That is, to the ones who did NOT have McLame signs in their front yards in 08. Some of us have long memories!

I also don't get as much free time as I like, so even IF I had veggies laying about waiting to land on some dough, it is a time issue. I'll have to keep an eye out for a stone for my future Tombstones!

15. I don' know how much a pizza stone cost, but it does effect the pizza dough.
I planted a bigger garden this year, and with the recent rain it will take off.

16. Gardens
I added an extra row in my garden this year, too. I am still new to having my own garden, but always helped my parents out with theirs back in the day. We had almost one square acre of garden when I was but a mere nipper.

I do have a secret weapon my parents entrusted to me! They gave me every single issue of Mother Earth News, from issue #1, up until today, that they have subscribed to over the years. These magazines (especially the older issues) are the gift that keeps on giving!

17. My Grandparents had big garden behind the house.
They would either freeze or can a lot of it.

I always loved working in the garden, still do.

I find it very peaceful.

20. I wouldn't do frozen pizza without the stone.
I think it makes a huge difference. I also preheat the stone a bit longer than it takes to preheat the oven; the oven's preheated in a bit over ten minutes but I wait until 20 have passed before putting the pizza on the stone.

Freshetta, DiGiorno, Home Run Inn: these are premium frozen pizzas, usually costing between $4 and $6 each. Get the right kind and they weigh between 26 and 32 ounces; these are pizzas that can feed two people. Thus, when you get them on sale, it's a pretty reasonable deal. Tombstone pizzas are smaller and tend to go for about the same price; not a huge fan of the Tombstone, but cooked on the pizza stone it too is quite passable food.

I'm new here, and just out of curiosity, I have seen other people mention 'GD'. Would you mind putting me in the know?

19. I hate those things
Edited on Tue Jun-08-10 11:31 PM by JonLP24
They taste fine. I'm not talking about that.

A year ago I worked at a frozen warehouse and we unloaded them from large boxes and stacked them into smaller boxes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Very exhausting shit. We also did that with California Pizza and other brands that I forgot.
