1. Rather one-sided poll. I use Facebook but frankly think the UI sucks.
I only get on once every three or four weeks, but I've had a shitload of old friends (going back to the late 70's even) track ME down that way. I wouldn't have a clue how else to get in contact with them. Still, the UI royally sucks. It is a mixed bag.

I like the site, just wish its designers and whoever's behind the few-times-monthly UI changes had been launched into the sun.

2. Some people have legitimate privacy concerns with facebook, and I
can totally understand that. But I do think a lot of the haters come off as self-important, self-righteous holier-than-thous who believe they are so far superior to the nitwits who use facebook, or twitter, or myspace or whatever.

I've been amused by some of those same people here. You know, the ones who have time to run up thousands of posts, mostly in the Lounge. But yet they wear their facebook-free status as a badge of great superiority, or something. Comical AND ironic!

4. I sort of fit your description
but I only spend about two hours a day online. It's "enough". And certainly fulfills any "people" needs...being that I'm highly introverted anyway...I just do NOT like the idea of being around that many people, even in the digital realm.

Anyway, DU has a "loners' group", for those who don't mind oxymorons.

5. Actually, I don't think you fit my description because you were able
to give a good reason for why you don't do facebook, without being obnoxious or pissy about it. :thumbsup:

I have chuckled at the idea of a DU Loners group, too. ;)
