Just one more reason that Oklahoma sucks.

I went into the liquor store to buy a bottle of wine. I cannot legally buy a bottle of wine that is chilled. Only warm on the shelf.

You know, it's not like I'm going to uncork this bottle of wine and chug it in my car. If I were the type of person to do that, I wouldn't care if it were cold or not. It's just freaking wine. If I were buying a red wine, I wouldn't NEED it chilled.

However, on the counter they have these:

It's just alcoholic beverages that are sold only warm.

That can be sold cold in Oklahoma are 3.2% beer and wine coolers. Anything stronger than that and you have to buy it warm and cool it yourself. They can't sell the strong stuff cold here because it makes the baby jeebus cry. :silly:

And that's what we get here if we want to buy beer already cold. We cannot get major american brands like bud, miller , coors etc. in the 6% variety even warm at the liquor store, it just doesn't exist here.

even sell ice or are allowed to. When I lived in Ohio I could buy wine in the grocery and liquor was sold in state stores. Not sure how they do it now, though.

It's just silly that if I really, really was a desperate drinker I wouldn't even care if it were cold or not, ya know?

3. I was told that putting a room-temp bottle of red into the fridge 20 minutes before you open it and

let it breathe improves the taste, and I have found that to be true for $12-$25 bottles.
