woke up this morning with a piece of tooth stuck to my gums
I am losing my teeth. I have had a lot of different meds and then the disease and being malnourished. I probably will lose my top teeth at the very least. Sigh...

1. Have you asked
your doctor about nutritional supplements that might stave this off?

3. not yet, I am afraid it may be too late. I am on calcium supplements
but I am afraid it is too far gone to reverse the ill effects.

It's at least worth a shot.
It may not be just calcium that you need. Calcium is to keep your bones and teeth strong, but it won't keep them from falling out if your health is compromised in a way that effects your gums.

in little pieces here and there

7. That's really a drag.
I'm sorry to hear you are suffering so. Does your calcium supplement include vitamin D? It's supposed to help with calcium absorption.

I hope your health improves so you can avoid the feeding tube.

2. Why are you malnourished?
Or is that none of my business? I'm shocked that you're losing teeth because of it.

4. I have an illness
Edited on Fri Jun-11-10 07:14 PM by demtenjeep
that is very hard on my body. I also can't take standard meds for this illness as it causes worse side effects. The last time, I spent almost a month in the hospital. I went from 125 to 80 lbs. in less than a month. Almost had to have a feeding tube

8. I can do what I want as tolorated
but most days I am just too tired to do anything.

It is a good thing it is summer. I had to take the entire month of December off and have not had a full paycheck since November. At least I can't miss any days during June and July. Hopefully I can gain strength and the Docs can find the right balance

10. Momma always told you you'd be the... chosen one.
Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

Sounds like a messed up illness. Can't offer anything but bad jokes and sympathies.
