Our first grandchild is due soon. Just sent this email to my daughter

Autumn,
Just wanted to let you know that I really have some clout.
I called the White House last night. I wanted to see if I could somehow get some special recognition for your first child.
Believe it or not I got through to Obama himself. Apparently he will occasionally take a call to see what is on America's mind.
After helping him solve the economy, jobs and that mess in the Gulf, he asked if there was anything else. I replied that our first grandchild was coming and asked if there was something special that the White House could do.
Obama said he understood just how important that was. He was also happy to know that his home state would have another citizen.
So he suggested that, since we wouldn't know the exact day, he would declare 2 days of festivities to take place the first weekend of July.
Isn't that GREAT! Expect fireworks and carnivals all over the place just to celebrate Josh's arrival!

Michelle and the girls also send their heartiest congratulations.
