1. SO wish I could rec this.
I seriously don't get the Lady Gaga critical acclaim. Easy to get her worship; people have loved fluffy mechanized dance pop crap since Madonna started screwing stages. It's the critical acclaim I don't understand for the life of me.

2. Despite their "contrariness", today's critics are shills for the entertainment industry
It's all about moving units

4. Same here.
Musically, she's not doing anything Madonna already hasn't, and her schtick seems to be making wacky videos/fashion statements.

5. I think "music critics" are more or less whores these days.
I didn't cancel my subscription to Rolling Stone the first time they put Britney Spears on the cover, but when they did so twice in one year, I knew it had to be done. Not to mention there were other prefabricated corporate shit music "stars" on the covers around the same time (N'Suck and other such talentless wastes) so any credibility was long gone.

I'll admit they still have the occasional decent political article, but as a music magazine (which is what they are supposed to be) I'm long over Jann Wenner's rag.

7. No, I like Lady Gaga, she's fun.
How about Kate Perry AND John Mayer? Throw in Taylor Swift too, why not?
