Is nothing sacred?
he Big 12 has 10 members. The Big Ten has 12 members.

That pretty much sums up the state of college athletics after two more tremors shook the earth Friday afternoon. Nebraska left the Big 12 for the Big Ten, further reinforcing the likelihood that the Big 12 will disintegrate. Meanwhile, Boise State left the Western Athletic Conference for the Mountain West as that league attempts to strengthen its position for the upcoming free-agent grab.

It appears the Big One will hit Tuesday, when the University of Texas board of regents meets to discuss the Longhorns' conference affiliation. Texas is a candidate to move to the Pac-10, which took Colorado from the Big 12 on Thursday. Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State also are candidates to move to the Pac-10. Texas A&M is being courted by the Pac-10 and the SEC.

1. I hope Texas gets hosed
They have spent years shafting the rest of the Big 12 on television revenue, and now the league is ready to collapse beneath them. I'd love to see the SEC and PAC 10 leave the divas of the gridiron out in the cold.

Texas A&M would be a nice fit in the SEC. They have a history with Arkansas and LSU, so they could slide into the western division quite nicely. To keep things even, the SEC could make an offer to Mizzou or Texas Tech, and shift Bama and Auburn to the east.

2. 5 Texas and Oklahoma teams to the PAC-10 would be like...
USC, UCLA, Cal, and Stanford joining the Big East. I don't even want to think what they'll re-name the Big 10 and Big 12. Maybe the Big Indefinite and the Big Shrink.
