re: the oil volcano in the gulf.

All they need to do to stop the gusher is lower a cylinder 150 ft wide, 5 stories tall over the gusher and fill it with stones.

1. I am envisioning
one of those little rotatey water win a thingie dealiebobbers I used to see in fast food restaurants. Drop in a coin, try to catch it on the platform. Money donated to some charity, and if you win, you get a free sandwich or some such. Anyone remember those? Anyone ever win at one?

Except with a mile deep water.

I would pay to watch that.

Ok, that was a lie, no I wouldn't.

3. I had a few thoughts on the idea.
For instance, if we just got a really big bulldozer and shoved the Rocky mountains over into the gulf, the oil couldn't leak through that much. Plus, we need more space for people to live, so it works out double to just fill in the gulf, right?

Alternately, could we just relocate the Super hadron collider, and make a black hole right where the oil is coming out, so it just gets sucked away into the hole, leaving the gulf untainted?

My third idea involves bendy straws, but I'm still working on some minor details, and I don't want to share till I have a patent.
