Is there any type of psychological condition of a desire to break the law?
Serious question as I'm starting to think I have something like this.

I was somewhat depressed after turning 21 because I couldn't drink underage anymore and this was only canceled out by that I could now go to 21+ events. I started drinking much less. So I started hanging out with people doing marijuana more. Lately this has gotten less thrilling. I recently bought some marijuana that I have no intention of using and will probably just end up giving to someone else (I don't really do marijuana much myself.) I just wanted to buy something illegal. I don't even like salvia, but I bought some just so I could put it in my car when traveling to North Dakota where it was illegal. At no point did I take it out of my trunk, I just wanted to possess something illegal. My neighborhood is full of shady massage parlors and I've actually gone to them a few times not entirely for sexual reasons. I just want to hang out in a place where criminal activity albeit very mild ones take place. It may all be minor victimless crime, but the realization that I'm doing things that I like basically because they are illegal instead of doing things I like that happen to be illegal in spite of that.

1. You may be suffering from Quaid's syndrome.
The only known cure is to get married and honeymoon in an overpriced hotel. This treatment involves a slow painful recovery.

3. I don't think you suffer from a disorder.
You're still young and rebellious, and will (hopefully) outgrow it in the near future. Don't fret it. You realize that something's a bit off, but that's nothing to go screaming into the night about. Give yourself time.

Shit, I'm almost 58 years old and still feel that pull. It all depends on what you make of it. PM me, if you'd like.

6. Agreed. My first thought was antisocial personality
But the fact that he's asking these questions makes me think he's normal. Antisocial types don't usually consider themselves to have a problem. Everyone else has the problem.

8. I think the OP has had a rather strongly rebellious adolesence and suffers from the terrible malady
growing up.

I had that for a while and it really sucked.

But I tried hard to get over it.

4. If you really had a mental problem over this, you wouldn't be so self-aware about it.
A decade ago (when I was your age), I got kicks in a similar fashion. I don't think there's anything colossally weird about it. In fact, the very fact fact that you're posting here and expressing some concern over your behavior shows that you're far more normal than you give yourself credit for. If you're really bugged out, see a therapist. They can probably help you out a lot more than random opinions from fellow DUers.
