Why can't people refrain from scratching DVD's? (mini-rant)
What the heck is so hard about NOT scratching a disc?

Why, when I check out a DVD from the library, does it have to have crosshatched gouges all over the surface, making it unviewable?

Why, when my wife loans one of our discs to a coworker, does it come back with deep gouges, making it unviewable?

Why are some people physically incapable of gently lifting a DVD out of the case, carefully playing it, and then cautiously returing it to said case?
