5. This is the most entertaining way it's ever been described:

6. That made my asthma act up!

I've never heard of "MoviPrep". I think mine last year really was called "ShitEasy" or something similar :P

Two pills, and then half a gallon of "electrolytes". It's at that point I lived in the bathroom

But the name MoviPrep sounds like some brand name of a school for actors needing a quick entry into the movie industry ;)

8. Billy Connolly is hilarious!
The MoviPrep I had was actually all liquid. It was an extra-salty lemon lime mix that I had to drink....
it almost made me puke by the last few sips. By the end I was having to take a swig of grape juice before each gulp. uuuugghh.... I can't think about it anymore!! (I told the doctor nothing was wrong with my colon!!)

:scared:

12. I actually did "lose" the last eight ounces.
I followed the instructions on the box to drink 8oz every ten minutes, forgetting that the doctor had said I could do it every 15min. I should have done the latter, though it would have taken longer.

I was awake during the process and got to watch most of it on the monitor. That was pretty cool, really, and there wasn't much discomfort from it at all. They used good drugs in me

13. I made them knock me out. Didn't want to see any of it...
the last thing I remember was them telling me to lie on my side & I was saying, "You ARE going to knock me out, right?" Then I woke up with the doc and nurses trying to find my glasses. lol

14. It really isn't bad at all, if they drug you right.
It's like you're in this "twilight" waking state where everything feels good :P

There was only one point where there was some discomfort as he had to help the camera around a bend by pushing on my stomach. Other than that, it went "lytely" ;)

So, did they find your glasses? :)

15. Yes, luckily they found my glasses...
the extra minute gave me time to wake up enough to go over the results. Only time I've ever had a doctor wait until I was awake, after anesthesia, so it worked out well!

4. Is this the first time you've used the stuff, demtenjeep?
All I can say is, hunger was the last thing on my mind.

:-(

11. Oh, believe me, I fired off a not so lovely e-mail about the MoviPrep
Edited on Sun Jun-27-10 06:02 PM by Haole Girl
That was 6 months ago. Haven't heard a peep from them.

I wish you well. The procedure is definitely the easy part of a colonoscopy!

10. Hunger, I think, is the worst of it.
I had my procedure five years ago -- due in another five. My husband had his in May -- there was a benign polyp -- he's back in five. Our dear friend (a man, of course) was nagged constantly by his wife to get a procedure -- finally did, and he had cancer. The docs think they got it all, but now he must use MoviPrep every 90 days for the next year (see, there are things worse than hunger, I suppose).

Please note: colon cancer is VERY SLOW GROWING. If everyone would go ahead and have a colonoscopy, colon cancer would be eradicated.

16. Thing is, last two weeks I wasn't even hungry
today... wow

but not now. I just want to sleep.

All the stuff is done. Now, it is just a matter of finishing up.
