3. I had to Google that because I didn't know who that is.
Just not a soccer fan, that's all.

Not a real fan of American football, either.

I like Cricket, Rugby and Aussie footy.

I guess I was just born into the wrong world empire...

5. Hey
I was 32 years old before I even knew what the term World Cup really meant!

It's never too late! :hi:

(you can tell I'm feeling better, huh, if I can handle the noise again?! lol)

7. Hey, there.
:hi:

Glad to hear you're feeling better. :-)

I suppose there's some consolation to having our team put out of contention. Then you can just relax and enjoy the remaining matches without getting hung up on the national need to win...

to satisfy you?

9. I was 19 when the "Hand of God" shot took place in 1986
Probably the most famous goal in WC history.

14. It would disrupt the flow too much, I think
I think it's also because the players are bigger & faster than ever and it's harder for the refs to keep up.

17. If it were just goal-line decisions, there'd be hardly any disruption at all
For the dodgy Argentinian 'goal' just now, the consequence should have been either a goal or a free kick, so play should have been interrupted anyway; even for the England goal that was not given, the alternative was the German goalie kicking the ball out of hand - it'd be fine to stop play, have an official look at a replay, and award a free kick to the Germans if it had turned out the ball hadn't crossed the line.
