I PROPOSE A MORATORIUM ON FOOTBALL POSTING
Since I live next to a pub with a big outdoor screen that is always full of foreign assholes cheering their team, and when I log on to DU what do I see? More people yelling about football. Arghhhh

You football fans have no idea how boring that damned game is to those of us who aren't into it. It's not just boring in the way discussing, like, physics or something might be, it's far worse.

I have no interest in it, but it's fairly sedate, and the commentary is a bit conversational. Also I don't know how baseball works, so it's akin to listening to, like, a recitation of the Koran or something - completely incomprehensible, but not unpleasant. Listening to a football match is more like listening to someone recite fucking...Leviticus or some shit from the KJV

3. The hide button is your friend
and vice versa, take a guess how boring Baseball threads are for me who isn't into this game. I still don't complain but just hide the threads I don't like. The soccer threads happen only every 4 years. Let us have our fun.

6. I think the fact that I know a bit about football (or soccer) is the thing
Baseball threads I like, it provides a bit of colour.

(Also I'm not REALLY proposing a moratorium on world cup threads, of course, I'm just engaging in idle grousing conversation.)

8. I watched the game
Germany vs. England on a big screen at the Frankfurt Stadion with 18.000 other German fans (and one or two English fans). You would have enjoyed it too :) Funnily in the stadion I was thinking "Too bad I can't post on DU about it" :P

I had traumatic experiences as a child regarding football (i.e. I was comically unco-ordinated and the other kids laughed at me :( )
