Facebook partners with BP to allow Oil Drilling in Farmville... A story of PR Spin.
Got crops? Facebook game 'FarmVille' now on iPhone with new BP app.
By MA

For the millions of people who can't get enough of harvesting virtual strawberries and milking digital cows on Facebook, "FarmVille" now has the option of BP sponsored drilling. I can get free gas for my tractor gushed one Captain Apollo. The new app allows farmers to lease their land to BP who then cracks the earth and captures the natural gas. All the profits go right into the Farmville owners accounts and BP promises that it will have no effect on getting that golden cow or chicken.

Zynga, the maker of the addicting farming game, said Thursday that FarmVille/BP partnership was a match made in heaven. It is now available on the iPhone and the iPod touch as a free download. So we are able to reach BP's most tech worthy customers. Zynga makes money by selling virtual items for its games and from advertisements.

Zynga, based in San Francisco, is privately held and has 909 employees. All is not smooth however an offshore version of the BP app has closed down Zynga's Fishville game. The company says it is a temporary bug and it hopes to have it plugged soon. The company denies reports that all the fish in Fishville are dead.

2. Alas no dividends but I sent some enforcers over from Mafia Wars
to deal with farmers that wouldn't sign.
