Any Netflix Instant watch indie recs?
I like quirky, offbeat movies. Like The Station Agent, Spring Forward, etc. Don't mind subtitles.

If you like horror flicks from the 1950s and 1960s. They're American, French and Japanese respectively, all great in their own way.

I think it's in your wheelhouse of quirky and offbeat.

The netflix promo:

Lars von Trier wrote this stunning film directed by Thomas Vinterberg about a pacifist teenage misfit (Jamie Bell) in a mining town who chances upon a gun and discovers its power and allure. The leader of a band of outcasts who call themselves The Dandies, the boy convinces his posse to dedicate themselves to spreading the word about peace and weaponry -- a contradiction that he must then look straight in the eye as the movie unfolds.

each one in the language of the particular country (and subtitled). The Roberto Begnini segment had me literally rolling on the bed laughing, with tears rolling down my cheeks. (Warning: that segment is quite raunchy.) Another offbeat, little-known favorite of mine, a comedy, is "The Search for One-eyed Jimmy." Samuel L. Jackson, Ann Meara, John Tuturro and Nick Tuturro are among the cast.

Edited to add: a coupe of other good ones are "The Lives of Others" and "Thank You for Smoking."

30. I hope you can find it.
I remember that when it was out, it only played in one (somewhat esoteric) theater in the whole area, and for a very short time. I did rent the video later, but iirc, it was not that easy to find. I laughed so hard throughout the film. Assuming you do find it, let me know what you think of it.
