Several years ago (before the internets) everyone in Columbia SC was calling around to say look at he classified ads second column on page x. There was an ad: "Fuck your way to the top. Company CEO seeks qualified Admin Asst.........." The next day the paper ran an abject apology on the front page, saying that they had two females in the department: one would type in the copy and the other would proofread it. The first sent this ad as a joke knowing the second would correct it, but she didn't notice it and it went through. They assured the public that the two had been fired.
