I still am holding out for Bill though ... what is up with him anyway? You could tell that he knew Sookie was in trouble.

4. I suspect he is protecting her
He knows that they will use her to get to him if she means something to him. He can not get out of his current confines. We will see though. His decision to have sex with his maker will probably drive sookie away, no matter why he did it.

6. Yeah he's protecting her...
and I agree his romp with his maker is going to drive Sookie away..regardless of why. Alcide, could be a romantic interest for Sookie?

Eric and Pam putting the blame on Bill for the "V"...holy shit. That's not going to end well.

Can't wait till next week!!

16. Eric
Will do whatever he can to protect himself. He will sell the Queen down the river if he thinks he will be protected. There is a war coming between the Vampires, and I think Eric will turn up on the winning side, no matter who that is.

Oh, and that King is going to do down for giving werewolves V.

8. Yes, it is all about protecting Sookie.
Whether it is because he truly loves her or other reasons, I am still not sure. From what I have read, in the books Bill's affections were strictly business. It appears Ball has moved it to the feelings are genuine.

23. Its odd
He is over 1000 years old and he seems to have never had a school boy crush. I think its all what Sookie is. Just as Jason makes the human girls go gaga. I think sookie makes the vamps hot, which is really hard to do. That Stackhouse blood, it packs a punch. Maybe Alcide better back off a bit.

As others have noted here, the chemistry between the the two actors is so great their intimate brother/sister scenes can take on a tinge of "ick". :D

7. I am finally finding Bill Compton interesting!
For two seasons I was seriously "meh" about him as a character -- now his character is finally going somewhere and I am liking it! Rising Vampire Political Bill is someone worth watching.

The Sookie/Eric and Sookie/Alcide teases are fun as heck. I think breaking her out of her virginal/first boyfriend straightjacket will also make her a more interesting character.

And now we are getting to see a more rounded vision of Eric -- gone is the too-cool-for-school, I-am-bored-to-death-Eric of the first season. Eric is really having his world shaken -- first Godric, then his Sookie crush, and now his "child" is being threatened. His fantasy of Sookie was very funny -- who new a Nordic Viking would be turned on by being called "cowboy". :D Pam is far too great a character for her to be killed off -- Ball will have to come up with someway to save her bacon.

I think the thing I am liking best about this season is we are seeing that vampires are quite capable of deep emotional human feelings and behavior. Vamps seem to take great pride in having left their humanity behind and love to flaunt their cool superiority, but they are just as vulnerable to rage, fear, love -- the gamut.

I am seriously crushing on Alcide. :loveya: I was a Sam fan, but 6'5 of olive-skinned hunkatude is making my toes curl. I think I just love my doggy boys.

Poor Tara. Franklin is just a wee bit off his fucking rocker.

This season is really going places and I am LOVING it!

33. Agreed!
I never got the Bill worship the first season. Him being a vamp just wasn't enough to interest me. We are finding out all sorts of things about him now: he is the up and coming vamp, he worked as a procurer for the Queen, he is as political an animal as there comes.

What I am curious to find out is if his move away from the Queen and towards the King is subterfuge, with his mission remaining to protect Sookie on behalf of the Queen.

Alcide. Wow. I think he needs a lot of nekkid screen time. :D :loveya: That scene with Sookie leaning her head on his shoulder and his arm around her -- that roused all my schoolgirl longings for a big he-man to love and protect me from the cold world. :D

Ring ring, hookah, indeed. :D

One thing I do like about TB is that it is an equal opportunity T&A show -- the mens have to show skin as often as the womens, though I am still waiting for some full frontal from one of the boys.

Hello, Alcide????

10. Sookie seems VERY important to everyone
It can't just be her ability to "read minds."

Remember when she caused Maryann to back off with some sort of energy jolt?

I think Sookie has many untapped powers. That could explain her tendency to act fearless.

I saw the same thing. They didn't show clearly that it was coming from Sookie, but it look just like what she did to Maryanne, except on a larger scale.

17. Clearly she is a supernatural
The way Franklin was asking about her bother and looking into her history, she has something special in her blood. It appears to skip generations and within the generation though. Because her parents died in a flood (unless thats a lie) so they were not very super. Also, Jason;s only power appears to be to get into the pants of anyone he wants.

19. Found this Season 3 tidbit --
From an interview with Joe Manganiello (Alcide):

PW: Do you have a particular favorite episode from season three?
Joe: I think episode 7 is pretty amazing.

PW: Why?
Joe: Uh, there’s a lot of blood and a lot of people die.

PW: Fair enough. You just wrapped production on season three, wis the finale as cliffhanger-y as last years?
Joe: Worse. Way worse. Waaaay worse. You have no idea what they’re going to spring on you in season three, it’s crazy. You've got the introduction of my race and a lot about where Sookie comes from. They answer a lot of questions and in answering those questions they open up a whole new universe. It’s pretty wild.

The "wrap up" segment this week was a vamp being interrogated and spilling lots of info on how the vamp hierarchy works. I find that fascinating.

28. Yes, I am really liking that as well.
It moves it out of "soap opera" territory and into a more fully realized world the characters can inhabit. The hierarchies within each species and between the various species are really interesting. I am loving the King and his machinations, and the politics Compton is playing as well.

It looks like next week the King finds out from Franklin the true nature of Bill's return home and the Queen's interest in Sookie. With Bill aligning himself with the King and Eric fingering him for the V sales, life is going to be VERY interesting for Mr. Compton the next few episodes.

37. Vamp cage match.
Bill and Lorena had a pretty good one at the Dallas hotel, but will we ever see a mano-a-mano, death match between vamps? I wonder what that would look like? It appears that any killing of a vampire is generally left to the Authorities -- vamp on vamp killing is a serious no-no that can result in terrible punishments.

43. It kinda explains why in the very beginning Bill got so friendly with the Rattray (blood drainers)
It always bothered me that first episode when Bill left the bar with the Rattrays. I mean that couple were definately trailer park trash, I couldn't see why Bill would join them at their table or even worse - leave the bar with him. I mean unless you're Jessica, you'd probably Glamour them real quick to find out their motives before going anywhere with them. But that whole manuever made it real easy to have Sookie take in Bill's blood and thus binding her to him.

48. Finally catching up with True Blood....not enjoying this season as much.
It seems like there isn't anything new happening...like, oh Bill's lost so Sookie goes to find him, but it's too convoluted this season with vampires and werewolves and none of the main characters are interacting with each other and they don't spend enough time on Jessica.

They need to bring it all back to Bon Temps and keep developing the original story than introducing too many characters and all these separate story lines. Just my opinion. I've been enjoying Dexter a billion times more than True Blood lately.
