Do you have more than one cell phone/Blackberry? And why?
It seems to me I'm meeting more and more people that have one phone for work, and one for personal stuff. Is that really necessary...?

Seems like the world gets more complicated every day...

1. Of course it can be necessary.
I'm not required to carry a cell for work, but if I was you can be sure that I'd keep my blackberry, with all my personal stuff on it, WAY separate from any work-issued phone.

3. I have two...one is paid for by the company...
the other is for personal use and I wanted to add my kids on my plan. They aren't blackberries, just plain phones.

So it's more of a money thing. It comes in handy though when I forget my "main" phone or the battery has died on one of them.

4. Yes, it is necessary....
If your work phone is provided and paid by your company and for company use only. Most companies wouldn't mind an occasional phone call here and there, but that isn't the way most people use a phone. And besides you're protecting yourself. If a company wanted to fire you, evidence of using company assets for personal use is grounds for termination. So having two phones could save your job.

5. I have two.
I have a personal cell and a company cell. The company cell is for reaching me after-hours and on weekends. I told the company that people could just call me on my personal cell. The company said that would be a "privacy issue". I said that the company uses AT&T and I do not get AT&T service at my home so maybe we could ignore any "privacy issues". They gave me a cell anyway. I would use the company cell as my private cell (I rarely use either phone) but for the coverage problem. So I just forward my company cell to my private cell. There's some corporate efficiency for ya.
