Saginaw Bishop Kenneth Untener: 1937-2004
http://abclocal.go.com/wjrt/news/032804_AP_r2_untener_obit.html

Even though I live in Grand Rapids Diocese, I admire Bishop Untener for the good work he did.

Most notably (for me anyway), he wrote these "Little Books," which offered daily Scripture readings that have helped me enrich my faith. "The Little Blue Book" was used for Advent, "The Little Black Book" for Lent, and "The Little White Book" for the Easter Season.

Rest and Peace Grant Upon Bishop Untener, O Lord, and May Eternal Light Shine Upon Him!

Rest In Peace, Bishop Untener, and May The Angels Lead You To Eternal Paradise!

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

1. The bishop signed...

...the 1998 Bishop's petition to end sacntions in Iraq, and seems to have been a warrior for peace right up to the end.

And he had the right friends....Call to Action, Pax Christi, etc. ... and the right enemies.

May his memory be for us a blessing... Shalom U V'Racha

2. I did not know that.
That's cool.

Too bad his life was taken too early.
