1. Front loading , fer sure.....
I got one 5 years ago and love it. Without the agitator you can fit in a LOT more stuff. Basically, if I can jam it into the washer, it'll get washed.

2. That Miele looks beautiful
Our washing machine is on its very last legs and we are pondering which new one to get. We are thinking of a Bosch, a Fischer & Paykel, or a GE Harmony. In our previous place we had Frigidaire Gallery front-loaders which worked pretty well.

6. We looked at both the Harmony and the Neptune last night.
We went with the Neptune because it is solid metal construction. The Harmony has a plastic lid. The Neptune was cheaper (not by much) but did all the same things as the Harmony except "talk to the dryer". I did a lot of research on my own and Neptune came out higher. Good luck with your shopping. It's my first brand new washer/dryer set and I can't wait for it to arrive!!

The Harmony has bigger capacity. It has the biggest on the market. 4.0. But it seemed rather chintzy when we tested it out.

:hi:

3. Front loaders are generally more environmentally friendly.
They use about a third of the water that a top loader uses. They are also easier on your clothes.

4. We just bought the new top loading Neptune last night! It saves 30

gallons of water per load. I can't wait for it to be delivered. It should save on water, electricity and the cost of buying new clothes. It's a top loader without the agitator. It has two disks on either side of a stainless steel tub. :hi:

7. Ahh, cool...
It's been a couple of years since I've looked at them. I'll be back in the market for one as soon as my house sells. I'll check them out. Thanks! :hi:

5. About the only downside to a front loader
is that it takes longer to complete a wash cycle. I just wish the front loaders had been as "ready for prime time" when we had to buy a new set several years ago. The time is no big deal for me - saving the water, and getting cleaner clothes, is a nice plus.

9. I'm always adding
stuff mid cycle. I don't think I would be able to do that with a front loader since all the water would spill out. If I were more organized maybe I could go for a front loader.

8. Front Loader
Not sure if it's to my benefit or not. I'm interested though in the closeness of this poll so far!

13. well, both are
The Miele more so (it spins faster and needs less water - thus it is classified AAA, while the Bosch is an AAB in the European rating system).

15. If you don't have a lot of space, you have to stack 'em, and that means...
Front loading. A little tough on the back, bending and reaching, but they are file overall.

16. Just so long as it isn't a Maytag
If they want to pull out of America and make them in Mexico, then screw them. Personally, I live near the Mississippi River, so we just take them down there and beat them on a rock. lol.
