1. yeah, although I think you might see more from the 80s there these days..
A lot of that 70s stuff seems to be scooped up by those who haven't seen it endlessly recycled for 40 years..

or a vintage shop...

4. Ours has a vintage section, but I never checked it for anything as "recent" as the 70s.

5. Sure
What kind of 70s themed clothes are you looking for? Did you watch some 1970s movies and tv shows to remember that era of polyester clothes and big hair?

7. Well, we are trying to find some tie-dyes with peace shirt
I know they are from the '60s but still...

But any ideas would be welcome. I was born in 1976, so I don't remember much about that era.

Earliest memory was of an Atari console. :)

12. 70s party may be disco
I lived through the 70s and associate it with disco.
Two things you may want to watch to get ideas:
- Saturday Night Fever (movie with John Travolta)
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show. It was really popular in the 1970s and Mary and Rhoda wore a lot of adult trends.

Tie dyed shirts really are 1960s. I suppose you could go as the hippie who defied time. Or maybe was too wasted to notice the calendar change.

I hope you have lots of fun!!

department store.

6. My closet is the place to go. Yikes, I just can't give up my hippie
clothes. But really, even Goodwill here doesn't have clothes that are that outdated (or retro). I have only seen good selections in used clothes stores that specialize in the genre---and they are only in big cities. At least that has been my experiences.

8. I know there are couple of stores on Broadway
but we'll check Goodwill to see if there's anything, but if not, then we'll go up to central Denver and find something.

13. Goodwill is a great place to go when you want to spend way too much for second-hand crap.
I could go on and on about it.

This week my local store had one of those four-foot-tall particle board shelving units that retails for $19.99. Goodwill had it @ $29.99.

Love it!

14. If you lived in CA
There was this place called aaardvark's in Pasadena.
It's been years since I've been there. They always had 70s style clothes.

15. I was thinking that Goodwill weeds clothes out, but
when I go to local church or charity yard sales, they are not so picky about what is there. Happy hunting.

16. While I have not a thing against disco
there was more to the 70s than that.

I graduated from high school in '79. We were in to long, wild hair, bellbottom jeans, tee-shirts featuring our favorite bands (Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Aerosmith, etc.).

Girls wore Dr. Scholl's exercise sandals; boys wore Chuck Taylors.

These are items that may be easier to find if you're on a budget and need quick turnaround time.

We want our outfits to scream '70s and is not common at all.

18. Goodwill in our town sucks! Totally full of over priced crap that belongs in the dung heap
Good deals in my area are found in the SPCA thrift store and Hospice thrift store. People in both outfits have sterling souls; they get my business.
