Things that are more boring than watching a tennis match on TV

OK, I'm in someone else's home, so I don't really have any choice about what channel they 'watch'.
I say 'watch' because it's just background noise and no one is really watching it.
But if there's a lag in the conversation, it's really boring to watch the ball going back and forth.
I'd rather watch pong.

Golf on TV......snoooooozzzzzzzzze.

except, much to my surprise, watched the British Open at St. Andrews a while ago, and as to the weather and scenery, and characters, it was SMASHING!

The tension is almost unbearable.

Jesus and Moses are out playing golf one day. Moses is getting really pissed off because Jesus keeps getting a hole in one (regardless of the distance). On the eighth hole, Moses drops his in the drink. He walks up to the pond, parts the water, walks out and pops his ball up onto the green. Jesus accuses him of cheating.

Coming back from the far end and on the 14th hole, Jesus drops is teeing off and Moses sneezes REALLY loudly (intentionally) causing Jesus to drop his ball in the pond. He walks down to the water and out over it, reaches down, picks up his ball, places it on top of the water and shoots it from there up onto the green and into the hole.

A guy coming down the front nine sees this and comes over to Moses. "Who the hell does that guy think he is, Jesus Christ?"

Moses snaps back, "Heck no, he thinks he's Arnold Palmer."

(NOTE: Grampa never used swear words except for one time long before I was born. My father witnessed him smashing his hand while doing something at his work bench. The air went dark blue. That was the only known time in his entire life to the best of my knowledge, which includes my dad's in this case. My version of the story is a little more profane and uses Tiger Woods instead because most kids at a bar don't know who the fuck Arnold Palmer is.)

Hearing someone describe a tennis match that they once saw? :shrug:

Kind of Tennis boiled down to its basic video elements. If you're not playing it's horrible.

There is nothing less entertaining than watching a bunch of spoiled, privileged asshats whacking balls with clubs and calling it a "sport". At best, it's a mere "game"--NOT a sport any more than checkers is a sport.

Flame away, golf nerds. :P

Sometimes I care who wins in tennis.

try READING about golf. I got stuck reading a golf magazine in a barbershop once (it was the only kind of magazine they had and it was a long wait) and probably shouldn't have bothered. Sitting there staring at my shoes the whole time would've been more entertaining.

Steroids should be prescribed for fans, even if it sent them to the hospital. Anything to escape.

Golf is the most fascinating sport on the planet, a diabolical mental and physical test. If you know the tendencies of every PGA or LPGA player it's amazing to watch them struggle through them. Sunday provided two more examples. Paul Casey had a 3 shot lead then started coming over the ball, his tendency under pressure. Three straight bogeys did him in. Michelle Wie also had a 3 shot lead but she tensed up on the back nine while playing alongside Yani Tseng, who has a tendency to win only when she is in come from behind stalking position. Sure enough, Tseng shot a terrific 30 on the back nine. Michelle got tight for several holes and wasn't even finishing her swing in typical fashion.

I love tennis also; boxing minus blood.

Flies fucking and paint drying are more riveting.

I think it takes playing tennis to really understand and appreciate what those players are capable of doing.

I'm hoping anyway.

(Tennis fans will know of what match I speak ;-) )
