I am headed to Fredonia, NY tonight for my college Homecoming.
Thanks to Facebook, about sixty of my college radio friends are going to be there -- we are taking over the radio station and it will be an all 80's weekend!!

I am not going to talk politics or think about what is going on in this country -- for the next three days, I will do nothing but play music, drink beer, and hang out with friends.

Should be a good time...does anyone have any 80's music requests? Give me something a bit obscure...

1. Hey I almost went to Fredonia
We would have been classmates! :hi:

Wish I could pull in your station from here--I would soooo listen all weekend!

It's not obscure, but my vote would be for some Adam and the Ants (beyond "Goody Two Shoes"). Oh--and some Violent Femmes, please. So very '80s...!

Have fun! :toast:

WCVF is the FM station -- that is the station we will be on.

I think I am going to be on from 1:30 - 2:30 on Saturday with my friend Cindy.

2. Where did you end up going?
I graduated from Fredonia in 1985 -- it was the PERFECT college for me!

to visit my grandmother.

I'm trying to think of an obscure choice - but play some Mekons, instead, Bad Brains, some Raincoats and some Slits! :hi: It's hard for me to think of much alternative/college radio music from that period as obscure, I guess! Have a great weekend, sounds likefun!

7. Tom Waits, anything from the Rain Dogs album
A dense collection that rewards careful and repeated listening. If you need something accessible during your brief time on the air, play "Clap Hands" or "Gun Street Girl."

13. Hail Freedonia!

Rufus T. Firefly: I got a good mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it.

Rufus T. Firefly: This is Rufus T. Firefly coming to you through the courtesy of the enemy. We're in a mess folks, we're in a mess. Rush to Freedonia! Three men and one woman are trapped in a building! Send help at once! If you can't send help, send two more women!
