Today's College Football Tailgate Thread
So there are several interesting games today, including four games between ranked teams:

#1 Alabama at #19 South Carolina
#17 Michigan State at #18 Michigan
#2 LSU at #14 Florida
#23 Florida State at #13 Miami

A few other games on the schedule that might also be interesting for various reasons, like Oregon State at Arizona, USC at Stanford, Arkansas and Texas A&M (at Cowboys Stadium), Utah at Iowa State, and Colorado at Missouri. My Sooners have the week off after last week’s win over Texas.

So who is your team playing today? What games are you looking forward to?

7. UCLA has been a bit of a mystery this year
Looked good beating Houston, and crushed Texas, but looked pretty bad in a couple of their other games. I haven't gotten to see much of Cal this year, but it seems like they've been a bit of a mystery too. I think your Bears have a much better chance today than your Tigers, though ...

2. Illinois might actually get a Big 10 road win today
They've only won 6 in the last five seasons, but they're up on Penn State 27-13 today. That's in spite of two turnovers deep in their own territory trying to field punts.

:sarcasm:

They're No. 12 AP. Ohio State is No. 2.

the Arkansas/Texas A&M game.

I'm surrounded by a lot of Razorback homers, and I hope the Aggies win. :)

9. Go Buckeyes!
Happy to see that Ohio State beat the pants off of Indiana, 38-10. GO BUCKEYES!!

Our season is only going to get harder from here, so we've got to keep up the momentum and play every team like they are our rival.

17. Arizona State goes on the road to face Washington
I'm not sure how they are going to do. It has got to be very demoralizing to lose 3 straight games against tough teams by close margins. Last week they lost to Oregon State 31-28. :(

18. here's hoping they turn the corner this week
It's got to be frustrating (both for player and fan) to be so close on those games. And it looks like they've got a pretty tough schedule to close the season, too, so I guess they'd better pick up some wins while they can.

39. USC just tied it up at 21, near the end of the 3rd
Man, as a Cal fan I'm really really confused here - has USC fallen enough that I can stop hating them, or do I have to pull for Stanfurd Junior University?

41. In this case
I think it is more of Luck + running game than it is USC falling. Luck + running game has been really good for Stanford the last 2 years. All they need is a defense!!

43. I know, Stanford has really come on strong recently. I just meant that USC has
been dominant for so many years that we're supposed to hate them, but as a Cal grad I'm supposed to hate Stanford. So, if USC has declined from dominance then I can cheer for them, but if they're still the 'Dallas Cowboys' (so to speak) then I have to cheer for Stanfurd. It makes my brain hurt...

For the record, I decided a while ago to pull for Stanford Jr. U. - the more successful they are, the sweeter it will be when we beat them in the Big Game... ;)
