If I never hear another Springsteen tune, I will recover.
Bit of background:

I'm recording to CD a bunch of my Mom's neighbor's albums, mostly rock and pop from the 70's.

I hate, positively detest, Bruce Springsteen.

This is what I just got done recording to CD.

4 albums with one record each.

1 with 2 records.

Big one...5 albums in ONE case, all live performances.

AAAAGGGHHHH!!!

1. I like the "Boss" ok.
I never got why people seem to deify him though.

2. Could you listen to 11 records, straight?
Thankfully I'm recording Donna Summer right now.

Oh come on! She got me all hot and bothered back in the 70's, and she has a nice voice.

4. I guess I'm trying to gracefully say "I feel your pain" ...
without offending any of the hardcore Springsteen fans out there. I mean, the guy writes great lyrics and has a unique singing voice. But if you had to listen to "I'm On Fire" more than twice in one night, well ..... I just hate it for ya pal.

5. Heck, Donna Summer doesn't even HAVE 11 albums, does she?
Maybe recording The Boss is more fun if you have on jeans and biker boots and can smell motor oil and beer. Donna? Polyester and a Pink Lady. Disco ball optional. See? You hafta throw your back into this thing!

8. I think both Springsteen and Summer are old enough...
If they tried dancing the way they used to, they'd throw their backs OUT! :D

6. I don't get Bruce either
Respectable people tell me he's great.

But I just don't get it.

I'm sure he's great to his fans, but for me - meh.

And the same goes for the 'Hold Steady'

7. Why don't you turn the volume down?
You don't have to actually listen to the music while it's recording, do you?

10. See, the secret is to get a mix CD from someone who's not a groupie
It's like any other act with a rabid following.

Ask a fan and they're going to recommend most of his albums.

One of my all-time "go to" songs, especially when I need to blow out some pent-up aggression, is the LIVE @ Tramps version of "Murder Incorporated" (the performance that was played to death on MTV upon its release).

The fucking BOTTOM on this track is so rock-solid...I don't know, if you hate the guy, you hate the guy, but I love this performance outside of any appreciation of any other song he's done.

:toast:

11. I liked the 'quiet side' of the Nebraska album.
The vinyl album had his quietly-sung guitar strumming songs on one side and the loud icky stuff on the other. I loved that one side of that one album. Never paid any attention to his music outside of that.
