1. My dear OmahaBlueDog...
Any variant of the word "douche" kind of bothers me. I'm not sure why, though...

17. I know that guys calling one another Douchebags has been a NY/NJ thing for a long time
A popular South Florida radio host from the 80s and 90s named Neil Rogers used the phrase all the time. St seems to have found its way into the Sports Talk radio lexicon. So now we hear words like "the douchouise" and "douchocracy" to describe groups of people. It's overdone, IMHO.

And I am NOT a French scholar!

What I want to know is, why I do I keep seeing lamps that look like douchebags?

4. I'm sure I can come up with a new one every day.
For today:

How ya doin'?

Any response other than "fine" stumps the questioner, who doesn't actually care what he's asking. I usually tell people "I'll make it."

Edited on Fri Oct-15-10 09:09 AM by Tuesday Afternoon
"let's review the bidding."

used in any other scenario seems to bring the conversation down to a level of playing games.

26. It's basically come to mean "extremely unique"
"How did you feel when the copmissioner handed you the Lombardi Trophy?" "It was surreal".

No! Exciting - yes. Unique - yes.

Surreal would have been if Rachel Ray, dressed in a nun's habit, handed you the Lombardi Trophy -- and little black ants were springing forth from it, while Gala (Salvador Dali's sorta kinda wife) stood nude, atop the lockers, balanced on a crutch and twirling a melon on her finger like a basketball.

Edited on Fri Oct-15-10 10:45 PM by OmahaBlueDog
It became a popular term of art among six-sigma quality managers, and is now generally used as a tool to evaluate performance in corporate settings.

45. I love that one.
Only because it makes me think of a Les Miserables song instead of listening to their yammering.

At the end of the day
She's the one who began it!
There's a kid that she's hiding
In some little town
There's a man she has to pay
You can guess how she picks up the extra
You can bet she's earning her keep
Sleeping around
And the boss wouldn't like it!
