Just saw Paranormal Activity 2

I loved the atmosphere of the first one, and this one tops it. Like the first one, there is no gore. Instead it relies on messing with your senses. You sit there listening for any sound, scanning the screen for any movement, engrossing you in the movie. In the first movie, the daytime scenes act as a reprieve for you to catch your breath. Not so much in the second one. As much activity takes place in the daytime as the night scenes. Basically you're on edge the entire movie. It also stays away from fast forwarding for the most part. Instead you're sitting there in real time, forced to wait for the bad things to happen, ratcheting up the the anxiety.

If you want to watch a horror movie for Halloween next week, watch this one.
