I swear, after having an internet around for 18 years, you'd think people would be clued in to those "Sally is dying of a brain tumor and she wrote this excellent poem and if you pass it along, the American Cancer Society will donate anpther 3 cents towards her medical care..."

I knew it was bullshit before snoping it. It was a nice poem, but they pass this trash around like it's the real thing or a gospel from the Bible. And these are people with college degrees! Soooo gullible. and Yes, I'm in a very red county in Texas. Figures. Idiots.

Some times there is a moron at work who drives me to distraction.

I telecommute, so only have to deal with me. :P

( but at least I never spam myself with emails. )

2. just the neighbors
am I obsessing?

I used to get shit like that along with the other stupid flag waving/cross encrusted jesus crap - all from the same type of people. Used to reply all (they still don't know how to delete all the addresses when they forward the shit either) with comments, then just snopes and that made most of it stop - now I mostly delete the random ones that still show up. Some people are hopeless.

3. Oh, yes...
I'm in Texas, too. I still get the ones about the little boy collecting the business cards as his last wish.

4. Thankfully we can't get away with forwarding spam mail at my job.
A couple of years ago somebody in another business unit accidentally forwarded a calendar featuring hot firemen and graphic details of what Mr. July could do to her to dozens of people in numerous business units. I know she heard about that.

6. I know a couple of people who fell for the russian boyfriend scam
they really thought they were hooking up with a guy from russia that was coming to live in the USA,until they asked for money. It's kinda sad, actually.
