Fuck the eagles, I can't stand them.

Some of the Eagles work is stellar (for example, Joe Walsh's paean to staying sober...)

But ALL of CCR is SUPERB!

but overall musically the Eagles contributed more because of their original styles of blending rock and country. Even if you don't like country, the contributions that this group made to Rock, Pop,and Country are pretty amazing, and generally understated. How many other groups have tribute albums done to them from totally different genre's of artists.?..

I do actually think CCR has a better chance to be still played 100 years from now but I don't see either outfit as anything particularly special.

are apparently major a-holes, but I have no first hand knowledge of that.Just have heard it, but might not be true at all ) I love CCR's music, even the less well known stuff, and I love a lot (far from all, but a lot) of The Eagles music. I think more than one of their albums are absolute masterpieces. But hey, to each their own. If you don't like 'em, you don't like 'em. I've never put down anyone's musical taste here; never will, even though I see people expressing love for groups and/or artists whose music annoys the shit out of me. But if someone's music makes you happy , or you just enjoy it, then it just does, and you just do. At the risk of sounding boastful, I think I have a fair amount of music cred,but my opinions of who I like and don't like, while fairly well informed, are still just my tastes and opinions. Same with yours. Saying you find the Eagles are not to your taste etc. is perfectly valid; saying they suck displays, to me, a lack of understanding of the amazing professionalism and craftsmanship of their ensemble writing, performing and recording.
P.S.....thought Big Lebowski was one of the more over-rated movies I ever saw. Just my opinion; doesn't mean I'm wrong or right. Maybe I just didn't "get it".
