Mine is my grandmother Chisholm. She worked until she was 82 and lived to be 103. She refused to take a certain prescription at the age of 97 because she was afraid of long term kidney damage from the pill LOL! When she was about that age we took her to the midnight christmas hymn sing at her church on a cold december night and she sang away. I used to sit on her lap as a kid and play with the necklace watch she always wore. She'd tell stories about early days and being a doctor's wife in rural Nova Scotia. She was very, very crippled for the last 20 years of her life but soldiered on and kept coming for dinner at my parents house until she was 100 (she didn't care if it snowed or not). She was a workhorse and solid. When she died she was buried beside her husband in a little country cemetery, 50 years after he had passed away.

1. My grandmother as well. We called her Honey. I could tell her
anything and she me. She was ALWAYS there for me in ways I can't even go into - let's just say she practically raised me and if it weren't for her I'd be so f'up up. And in the end, I was there for her. When she had to have a one month stay in a convalesce center, I visited her every day. When she couldn't climb the stairs at her apt. anymore, I leased a one story house so she could move in w/me and my son, that was where she passed.

2. My cat. He's not human.
That was easy.

3. I have two favorite people.
They are my children. They may not make me proud every day, but they do so often enough.

4. My parents. They were absolutely the greatest.
I could not have picked a better set of parents to raise me.

It's on me that some of what they tried to teach didn't take. Through the years I have come to appreciate them even more, if that is possible.

I would nominate them both for sainthood.
