7. And bird seed.
Last year, I resigned myself to feeding all the animals, until the pigeons showed up.

:scared:

22. I was doing that until the deer started eating the bird seed
I can't afford 25-40 pounds of seed a night to feed those voracious beasts!

I need to go buy some bird seed, but I am getting deer repellent at the same time. The deer keep walking up to the windows of the house, looking in and wondering why I have not put out the buffet yet this year.

Doe season starts soon. We may have venison for Christmas!

6. The slowly rotting jack-o-laterns in the back yard....
Last week I approached a mouldering one, since it was trash day.

The fucker moved.

I screamed like a little girl and ran.

The squirrel poked its head out of the mouth and continued to munch.

They made me pick all my peaches a week early this year. I looked out my window one morning and they were having a peach tasting party.

10. They open them individually, eat the inside, and toss the shell.
The chipmunks pack their cheeks with them and zoom off to store them. One summer I was able to sit 2-3 feet away after some practice.

12. It's cute how they use their little 'hands' isn't it?
Especially when they are sitting on their hind legs stuffing their faces. I don't mind them eating the bird food because it's fun to watch them too. :hi:

14. Very cute, the chipmunks especially.
I had to stop feeding them when the pigeons discovered our little arrangement. The seed that took all the other animals a day to eat was devoured in 15 minutes. They used to wait for me on the peak of my roof and on my neighbors' roofs. I quit the day I counted 40.

18. I don't blame you.
Sounds like an awful lot of pigeons to feed. What a bummer though. :-(

19. The good news is that they didn't discover me until the end of August.
It was a bummer having to stop, but I would have had to do it anyway. Habits are made that are hard to break. They came around every day for weeks, and I couldn't bear to even look.
