So, they came on and had a good show, but it was just over an hour long. Tickets were $40 to see them. No big deal to me, but the place was filled with young Chinese kids and $40 is 1/4 of a month's wages for them, and all they get is an hour?!

Not only that, these kids really have to go out of their way to even know who this band is, so you're getting a dedicated group. Then there are the non-Chinese are expats who are just happy to get a good act in town. These are the people this band should be playing for and they shrugged them off.

1. I've posted before about the incessant pre-show stage fright I had with my band...
.
.
.
.
.
...seriously wishing that the power would go out, so that I didn't have to get up on that stage.
.
.
.
Hit me EVERY time... never got better.
.
.
.
But...
.
.
.
...maybe 30 seconds or so into the first song... that feeling disappeared and the staff OFTEN had
to literally pull the plug on us to get us to stop playing (they were always nice enough to wait
for the end of whatever song we happened to be playing).
.
.
.
So, I identify with the 5- and 6-hour Springsteen shows of legend -- and I find it hard to
understand why anyone would be happy with only an hour if they could play and play and play.

2. And here they could
When King Khan and the BBQ came through they played until they felt like stopping, then came into the crowd and had beers with the 10 people who were left.

3. well, they don't remind me of a "bar band." Maybe that's why. Too bad, though
Now Elvis Costello, he gives you your money worth. Large venue about 8 years back- played for 3 or more hours. We had to finally leave because the kiddo was falling asleep!
