Help! I've got fleas!!
I dosed Pickles with Frontline on Friday night. I thought I followed the directions correctly, but it looks like it slid off onto her side a bit, just above her shoulder. And she is still biting and scratching like crazy.

Does this mean the Frontline didn't work??

1. It takes about 24 hours to be effective.
And Frontline (hopefully you used Frontline Plus, 'cuz the other one isn't much good) doesn't mean that your pet won't have fleas. It just means that the ones your pet has will be dead or dying.

Vacuum with a Heppa filter and wash all the pet bedding and don't give up yet! :hi:

4. Ok. I think we can live with that, as long as it means eventually they will all be dead. (Curse the
mice they rode in on!)

5. also
I'm pretty sure that dosage-wise, they account for the stuff that flies off when the cat shakes, so as long as most of it gets on their skin I think it's OK :D

6. Yeah, I would think so. I am pretty sure I used this stuff once several years
ago on the kittehs the last time the mice brought in a flea invasion, and it must have worked because we stopped having fleas. :) Here's hoping it does the trick again.

10. to assess how bad a flea problem you may have
get a flat plate and put soapy (dish liquid) water in it, then train a high-powered light on it....fleas will jump in, cannot get out

9. A spay bottle of 50/ 50 water viniger mix works for me.
Spay it on the floors spray it on the carpet. Seems simple
but it works. It'll keep the flea population down.

15. Dawn dish detergent
I've heard that professional dog breeders use Dawn for dog flea baths. I've used it myself and found that it definitely does a good job.

16. Drop the temperatures in your house for a couple of weeks.
Fleas can only stay alive in a pretty limited temperature range (pretty warm.) Drop the temperatures in your house for a couple of weeks to discourage any of the flea escapees from living in your furniture and laying eggs.
