Listening to Mavis Staples You are not Alone

Her collaboration with Jeff Tweedy is one of my favorite albums of the year.

I thought it was fitting to post this today. Sad news all around it seems. That whole album is fantastic, by the way. This track plus Wrote a Song For Everyone are killer.

She puts those teeny-boppers (Justin Bieber, I'm looking at you) to shame. Those pop idol and American Idol idiots cannot hold a candle to this woman (in my humble opinion).

But anyway, listening to it made me feel a little better.

Have dial-up though, so I can't view you tube :-( But she along with Mahalia Jackson tug hard at my heart strings big time when the going gets really rough!!!!
