Thank Dog for dinnertime!........
In this new era of butt-ass cold early Decembers and my adventures into poverty as an adult full-time college student, I have found the joys of dinnertime, notably the turning on of the oven and dual-purposing the heat. Ahhh... I can actually take my gloves off to type this.

Oh yeah, for dinner: Homemade pulled beef BBQ in Stubbs Mesquite sauce, corn and mac-n-cheese!

Happy Winter!

1. you want to save a little on that?
tomato sauce, ketchup (buy in bulk) and liquid smoke - add some pepper, garlic and onion powder and you will have much cheaper bbq sauce

I hear ya about using the oven! Its baking season and slow cooking meat is a great way to keep that sucker running for a few hours!

3. Actually, I did the meat in the slow-cooker........
But I used the oven for the mac. I'll try your sauce recipe next time, tho.

5. see reply above
just a cheaper version of the bottled store stuff - you can play around and get really good flavor (and may cost more) too.

The guys in my house love bbq sauce and go through so much of it I had to find a cheaper way to make it in bulk, personally I like the taste of plain meat! Some salt and pepper is about all I need most of the time.
