Which songs could you listen to over and over again?
For me it is "Lay-O-Lay Ale Loya" from the CD "Sacred Spirits". Love that song.

...I never tire of Greg Brown and his long live version of "Canned Goods"
.

.
.
.
"Taste a little of the summer..." or "Taste a little love the summer..."
.
.
.
Both work for me and I bet the beautiful duality was not just synchronistic.
.
(on edit) Probably better-stated as "not just serendipitous".
.
(One of my favorite words -- it even FEELS good to say "serendipity".)

If you need to -- double-click on the first choice when you get to the website,
and get settled in for an almost 14-minute journey to his childhood.

Anyways, because of his wheelchair, we were taken right to the Handicapped Section

So what's the verdict on the 'Raiders live? Any other 60's NW bands you like? I've only read of a friend of Rev Norb (Sick Teen, Boris the Sprinkler, etc...)commenting on a show of theirs ('Raiders). He said they 'tore it up'.

we saw the Sonics and the Kingsmen and Paul Revere and the Raiders at local halls when we were pre & teens.

We can remember Paul Revere and band pulling into the parking lot of the little venue they would play in their
Plymouth Valiant (silver, maybe or gold colored) pulling a small box trailer with their equipment.
Pretty much parents took pity on us kids and let us go to the shows..parents sat out in the parking lots waiting for us
after the show.
We believe the exposure to that great music is what made us follow the line of garage, psychobilly, proto-punk, punk
power pop and trash.

We have seen the Sonics and Paul Revere and the Raiders since we left the NW and great times.
the ''Louie, Louie" trinity...

15. Quite a lot of them, depending on my mood.
Sometimes I get in the mood for a certain song and will put it on continuous loop for up to an hour. Not uncommon while I'm driving. Recently it's been Hall & Oates' "How Does It Feel To Be Back," but there's plenty of others I've done it with. Often it's related to what's going on in my life at the time, but other times I'll do it with a song on a new CD that I find I really really like. One listen just isn't enough.

Drove East across Nevada all night in about 1971.

Van full of hitchhikers. Pretty smokey in there.

Sunrise exploded in our eyes just as we crested the mountain heading down to the Utah salt flats.

Endless road straight ahead into the daylight.

I have instrumental versions, the original, Rufus Wainwright, k.d. lang. The only version I don't have or like is Jeff Buckley. No offense to the late Mr. Buckley...it's just that such a passionate song needs a more powerful voice (IMHO) to really make your guts twist.

The quiet ones twist my gut plenty.

And he finishes nicely. That held note over the chord changes takes me places.

27. I hear that a lot, honestly, but I can't say I understand it.
k.d. lang's voice is quiet, but it still seethes with passion. Buckley...it's soft and quiet, sure, but I want something more. I want to hear someone's soul bleed out across their lips when they sing that song. I guess I just don't get that from Buckley. But each to their own.

Kind of atmospheric. Turn the lights low, maybe a candle? Yeah, this one gets me in the groove:)

60. Too many to list, but "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" is up there. "Imagine"
The theme from Summerplace. Barry White..."Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe." The Drifters..."I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas." Johnny Cash..."I Walk the Line." Almost anything by Marvin Gaye. Tom Petty..."I Won't Back Down." Dwight Yoakum..."Turn Me Loose." Almost anything by the Bee Gees. Almost anything by The Beatles. And on and on and on. (Can ANYONE live without music????!!!!????)

Just last October, a friend online posted that video. OMG I've fallen completely in love now, I got the (great!) book and movie about her for Christmas, and I'm driving my husband crazy playing nothing-but-Anita.

She's fantastic in this video. The story of how she picked that outfit is funny, just pulled it and the hat off the shelf not long before the show, then went into this Jazz concert dressed for a society luncheon.
Goodness gracious she rocks :headbang:

82. Tracy Chapman: Give me One Reason....
Actually, I worked in a public venue where I personally had the option to play what I wanted for as long as I wanted!

And I opted to play this one over and over and over and over again to the point where folks started coming up and asking - Gee, can you change the song?

I was almost tempted to say - sure...just give me one reason ;-)
