Major tinfoiler thread: An orange gator?
An orange alligator was photographed on a dock and it's already been determined that it is some outside substance, like paint. Not genetic. So here's what I'm thinking. The only motive to paint an alligator orange would have to do with the University of Florida. I believe their colors are orange and blue and their mascot is an alligator. Anyone else have theories?

2. LOL!
Somehow, I don't see Boehner as much of an alligator wrestler.

But they both shed false tears.

3. Would you paint a gator? Seems more likely he swam into a spill.
From the looks of him, he's orangest on the parts that would be near the surface, and less orange on the parts deepest in the water or out of the water, like his tail and the top of his head.

I say he swam by Boehner's bathtub drain.

6. Have you ever seen cypress sap?
It looks like liquid rust. Do you think he spent too much time hiding in one of those pools?

9. Hadn't thought of that. I was thinking some kind of marine primer.

5. Looks possibly like heavy rust sediment from water with a high iron content.
Or some waterway where there is some man-made discharge of some type.

Doesn't seem like paint would stay on very long in the water.

Not to mention the inherent difficulty with the application process.
