1. Its better if its all snow.
Not ice (as the somewhat unscathed survivor of an 8 car pileup from freezing drizzle, trust me)

9. Yuck
We are looking at freezing rain going to rain. Not as bad as either you or NE but bad enough especially as some people still don't have power from the snow/carpocalypse last week

6. My Last Winter in Nashua NH--100 Inches of snow
Every Wednesday and Saturday, 18 inches with an inch or two of ice on top. It's normal, or not abnormal, in any event.

10. Well having grown up on the prairie of Montana, I empathize with your
weather difficulties.

I hope the impact is much less than expected.

11. This is one hell of a storm
Here in South Texas, the front hits tomorrow morning. Thurs am low predicted to be 21. If it's that bad here, I can't imagine how much worse it will be further north. We have 2 Texas Ebony trees and a Tangerine tree, too big to cover. I hope we don't lose them; they can't survive more than a couple of days of hard freezes. Stay warm, guys.

13. We occasionally have temps in the high twenties at night

A neighbor lost a lemon tree, but most of the citrus trees around here seem be in south-facing yards or near buildings so don't get quite as cold.
Have you heard of spraying citrus trees with water to prevent freezing?

I was curious about Texas Ebony so looked it up-
Temperature-
In nature TE will tolerate temperatures to the low teens.

16. Not a good situation for deer or moose. Their long legs can't
negotiate snow at this depth and the cayotes tend to run them down. They will hunker down together nears swamps or wetlands where it's warmer and stay put. But they get very hungry about now. We're thinking about putting out some deer corn but I'm not sure they'll even be able to get to it. Tough winter for these beautiful creatures.
