Even when NAV (apparently) wasn't running, it still seems to have been a resource hog. I got rid of it because it was close to worthless (and entirely superfluous next to Spybot), but I had no idea that its removal would boost system performance so significantly!
but also knew they weren't as good at anti-virus as other programs. I discovered this when the free version of AVG discovered some old trojan files in some zips that I know both Norton and McAfee scanned and never noticed. I never went back to the Big Two after that :)
