Poll question: Which is your favorite genre at the drive-in theater?
Baby boomers may understand some of the categories. It's a warm, balmy 80 degrees outside and you head off to the drive-in with your main squeeze or maybe, some friends in the trunk. What type of movies would you rather see than any other? And remember, if it's your main squeeze you're taking, they'll trust your judgment, no matter which you choose.

1. We still have a drive in up here...
Unfortunately, no cool slasher or soft porn anymore...it's more of a family drive in. I still try to go once or twice a year though...

8. Skowhegan Maine has one...
But unfortunately, the one that corrupted my young mind in the 70's, the Winslow Drive-In is now a retirement community....

Still remember being 16 and seeing a triple feature Russ Meyer set in Winslow...whew!!!

6. The Tri Town Drive In (Leominster Mass) opened
up LAST WEEK...and promises a double feature of "Secret Window" and "Hellboy" this weekend.
Oh thank god we still have a few DI's left in the Bay State.
They've changed though, teenagers now go tripping to the multiplexes (they are welcome to them)...nowadays the working poor are the drive-in's most dependable cohort.

Best double feature I ever saw at the D.I.?
Hmmmm...hard to say.

I'll have to think about it...
There are some movies that simply SHOULD NOT be seen in any other venue though:
(expl)
"Independence Day"
"Scooby Doo"
"Austin Powers"
"Spider Man"
"Daredevil"
"S.W.A.T."
"The Iron Giant"
"Scary Movie II"
"Godzilla 2000"

9. Dawn of the Dead (original) still my favorite drive-in experience.
It was double-billed with "To the Devil--A daughter!" which I believe starred an unknown Natassha Kinski.
