Of course, he hasn't, you know, picked one out yet. Nor does he have any real prospects. Nor has he even bothered to file for the divorce yet.

But, damn it, the bed is cold. And I don't have anyone to watch Netflix with me. (And I would make her hot chocolate!)

2. My mom nearly did that but not intentionally.
And it was a husband, not a wife. She really hadn't been looking to get remarried or even date, my stepfather wasn't going to take no for an answer so she agreed to dinner and a movie so he'd shut-up. She had a good time. A year later, the divorce is nearly final and my stepfather proposed and they set a wedding date another year out.

Then my father (whose only objective in life was to prevent anybody from ever being happy again.) decides at the last moment to contest paternity. Several months pass, he loses and the divorce is on the verge of finalization...and he sues her for moral wrong and corrupting his children (by which he means me. Basically he accused her of adultery (because she's seeing someone else even though the divorce is not final...3.5 years after the initial filing.) and challenged the "no-fault" clause of their impending divorce.) He loses again after several more months and we're right on the cusp of the planned wedding. She came within one month of not finalizing the divorce before the wedding.
