1. I'm hoping to get up to Clear Lake and visit the crash site this year...
I've been through a few other times while driving past on I-35 but the last time the baby was finally sleeping so I wasn't taking a chance by stopping the car. :) Hopefully this summer when we're up that way again (from Kansas City).

3. Would have, could have, should have
All three were a huge loss, and not to detract from Ritchie Valens and the "Big Bopper", but Buddy was headed for the stratosphere; he was going places.

4. Makes one wonder where music would have gone?
Maybe no British invasion, off to some other branch. Not better or worse, but different.

5. Never for get reading the papaer the next morning
I was helping a friend deliver papers that day - I was like 9.
Didn't know much about music, but I loved Buddy Holly.
It was like a punch in the gut.

8. Wow, this is the first time I've seen that. Pretty gruesome. From the looks of the scene,
everyone on the plane was probably killed on impact & didn't suffer.

10. Ewwww, could you see bodies in that footage??!?!?!
It looked like it in a couple of shots that they were bodies on the ground. I had seen some of the crash photos before but never any with bodies in them! Creepy!!

7. Buddy Holly gave this beautiful song to the world...
"True Love Ways"

YouTube wouldn't allow Buddy Holly's version to play on my iPhone, so this is Peter & Gordon's outstanding version:
