has anyone here used disposable baby diapers for a dog in heat?
I was reading that I can cut a hole for the tail.

Did this work for anyone?
She's not been bleeding too bad as she's keeping herself clean, but the dripping on the carpet is getting worse.

I tried a backward pair of a worn out pair of my husband's undies and pinned it to size, but she didn't seem interested in keeping it on.
plus she peed in it.

I can't have her fixed yet, as she'll start treatment for heart worms as soon as her heat has passed.

I've been keeping her crated quite a bit, but keeping her in whatever room I'm in so she'll be content.
She's been a little too hyper with our fixed mail dog and cries to go out to see the unfixed boy dog in the adjacent yard.
needless to say she's not going out alone.

Strange coincidence that we've been stuck at home from the ice storm and -F windchill temperatures.

When i'm not home, I put her in the crate in the bathroom so she has a little more room, and the mess is easy to clean.
( I can't leave her out anyway as she eats non food items)

So has anyone had success with regular diapers? I was reading that dog diapers are more expensive.

1. No experience here, but I'm glad she will be fixed.
I was all set to give a stern lecture here about having your dog fixed. I am HAPPY to see that you explained. I, too, have a rescue dog that is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. So far, she's done very well.

Best of luck to you. And THANK YOU for being a responsible pet owner and having your dog spayed when you and your vet feel it is appropriate!

2. Probably won't stay on her very long and they are quite expensive too.
I bought my JRT a pair of dog panties that came with a built in pad and then used regular human pads after that one was kaput. I've never heard of dog diapers and I'm sure my dog would have gotten out of that right away.

My dog is now fixed. I never want to deal with that shit again.

Good luck!

3. I have heard of that before.
In fact, my ex boyfriend's family did it to their dog.

7. I remember diapering a poodle I use to baby sit
The lady used regular baby diapers and had the holes pre-cut. But honestly this was for and old dog with a bad bladder. But the dog would wear them.
