2 questions, re: Oprah and Egypt

1. I never saw more than the YouTube of Tom jumping on the couch that was everywhere, never a full show. Why is the show still on after the hoopla about her "final show" or hasn't the final one happened yet or are these "classic" repeats or what's the deal?

2. Not really a question, or will put it in the form of a question, but in the reporters' accounts of being detained and of (hundreds?) of bound detainees and of beatings and screams, I got the errie impression that this was the way it was 3 or 4 thousand years ago, like, a deeply ingrained cultural way of life, a living artefact. Or in the form of the question, did anybody else get the eerie feeling... ?!1
