2. Awesome.
One of my favorite lines from any movie comes from The Thing:

"I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time, I'd rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!"

3. The remake is my fave horror movie.

I think it's horror perfection. And the dialog is part of the reason why (that line is one of the best in the movie). There's a lot of funny stuff in the movie, but never at the expense of the horror part. The humor is believable and not there for campiness.

The original is also excellent, and the dialog in that one is also part of the reason why.

Can't go wrong watching either one. :)

7. The Prisoner Of Zenda 1937/1952
These two are best watched with both DVDs on hand and viewing a few scenes of the original and then changing discs to watch the same scenes in the remake.

Richard Thorpe, the director of the 1952 version, matched the original scene for scene, shot for shot, even using the same camera angles. Great fun.

9. To Be Or Not To Be 1942/1983
The original with Jack Benny and Carole Lombard is one of the best of the Ernst Lubitch comedies. The 1983 remake with Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft is in turn one of Brooks funniest films (Brooks did not direct it BTW).
