Got a cat question. My dear old ginger tabby is on what is essentially hospice care, 2 1/2 year post diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Every day we have together is a gift, as he has outlived his prognosis significantly and with vigor until the last few weeks.
I noticed today that he has two discolorations on his skin that appear to be a subcutaneous hemorrhage of some kind, or maybe some kind of odd bruising. Our veterinarian is out until Tuesday, so I thought I'd post this to DU to see if this rings a bell with anyone. One is on his belly, the other on his neck. About an inch ragged diameter each. I'm sure nothing can be done about them; I'm just wondering what would produce them.
Kitty is eating, drinking, peeing and moving his bowels with the help of pumpkin in the diet. He's alert, with no wheezing or chest sounds.
