I'm convinced cats are made out of mercury.
I swear to the Goddess that just the presence of the "dreaded cat carrier of doom" activates the feline ability to be incredibly strong and turn to liquid as necessary to avoid going to the vet.

4. No. You can be holding a cat tightly to your chest and magically, they slither away...
....as if they could turn to liquid (sorta like the T-1000 in the Terminator 2).

2. No no. It's just an ordinary ability to become invisible. They can
do that when they want to. Poof!, and they cannot be seen with the human eye.
Oh, and as far as going to the vet, do remember that the cats have razor sharp claws.

3. I have my cat carrier out in the hall now because I have a sick cat and one never knows
when I'll have to take him in. My smaller cat sleeps on top of it.

8. It truly is an accomplishment to simultaneously melt to get away while ripping you to shreds.
It's like some unknown state of matter, an extremely sharp liquid.

13. he ended up under the bed, up inside the bed framework
I was underneath the bed with a flashlight - he grimaced at me and I asked him, "Is that your war face? Wanna see my war face?" Then I pointed the flashlight at my face and yelled AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THAT'S MY WAR FACE (a la Gunnery Sergeant Hartman).....it got that ridiculous :(

9. And a frictionless water ballon at that.
Oh, well. On the bright side, his check up went well and he's not giving me the cold shoulder routine one of my other cats gives when he visits the vet.

10. Cats are definitely characters!
Mine will whine to and from the vet, but the moment I let him out of his carrier, he's rubbing all over me, as if to thank me for bringing him home again. All trauma incurred is promptly forgiven ;)

11. Cats actually are another state of matter.
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 11:24 PM by The Velveteen Ocelot
One of the principles of cat physics is that they can assume the properties of a liquid whenever they want to. And they can even assume the shape of their container (one of the characteristics of a liquid).

12. We have a feral we feed that we named "Schrodinger".
The manner in which he gets into the garage in bad weather was predicted by Feynman.

15. Actually, the physical universe moves around the cat.
He remains stationary as time and distance revolve around his very existence.

That is why we perceive him to be at all points at all times; it is we who are moving randomly about through space/time.

19. did you know cats can shed hair to make themselves slick
when they want to get away from a grip?
I didn't until I was taking our chocolate brown up to the vet one day. I was just putting her in the carrier when suddenly all I had was two hands full of hair and no cat.

I inevitably come home covered in their quickly shed fur.
